Two killed, 5 injured in road accident

Rourkela, Feb 25 (UNI) Two persons were killed and five others injured when a tempo in which they were travelling hit a dumper at Itma, about 70 km from here, today under Badagaon police station.

Police said while one Laxman Themria (38) died on the spot, another passenger identified as Maharagi Teli (40) died on way to Sundergarh headquarters hospital.

Five others received minor injuries. All the seven people were going to Sundergarh to sell vegetables when the mishap occurred, police said.

Kohima, Feb 25 (UNI) A Deputy Commissioner level meeting held at Mokokchung has discussed the Nagaland-Assam border issue where Assam Police had set ablaze some houses and arrested six persons on February 18. According to official sources here today the meeting had resolved some operational procedure for Mokokchung (Nagaland) and Sivsagar (Assam) border affairs. Akali supporter's bullet riddled body recovered from canal

Sangrur, Mar 10 (UNI) Police today fished out the bullet riddled body of a Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) supporter from the Bhakra canal near Sehna village of the district. According to the police, the deceased identified as Lakhwinder Singh Lakha was a supporter and close associate of SAD leader Malkiat Singh Kittu who had lost the assembly polls last month to the Congress candidate Kewal Singh Dhillon in the Barnala constituency.
