Tata Coffee bags Best Speaciality Coffee Award at IICF

Bangalore, 25 (UNI) India's major corporate Coffee producer Tata Coffee today bagged the 'Best Specialty Coffee Award' instituted by the Indian Coffee Board.

Union Minister of State for Commerce Jairam Ramesh, Dr Nester Osorio, Executive Director, International Coffee Organisation and Coffee Board Chairman G V Krishna Rau felicitated the winners at the India International Coffee Festival, which concluded here.

In the other categories, Jagalikal Estate won the Flavour of India-Fine Cup Competition, while Bhadra Industries Ltd was adjudged the best Arabica estate. Balmundi Estate of Ooty in Tamil Nadu was adjudged the Best Estate.

Regional awards under different categories such as Monsoon Malabar, Pulped Sun dried and Arabica were also distributed.

Man dies after being given 'Ketamine' injection in TN

Vellore, Tamil Nadu, Mar 12 (UNI) One person died and three others fell inconscious after they were injected a medicine to help them sleep. Police said four persons, were staying in a lodge here. When they found it difficult to sleep, a doctor Amirthamba, who was staying in the adjacent room, administered to them a 'Ketamine' injection. Paduram, hailing from Jharkhand, died on the way to the hospital, while others hailing from West Bengal, were here to report for their duty.....

Mercury dips in parts of AP

Hyderabad, Feb 25 (UNI) The minimum temperatures fell at a few places over Telangana and changed a little over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema. According to Weather Office here, the minimum temperatures were significantly below normal at many places over Rayalaseema and at one or two places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The lowest minimum temperature of 13 degrees Celsius was recorded at Arogyavaram. UNI.....

Police verifying pending case against horse trader

Hyderabad, Mar 12 (UNI) The Hyderabad police have been verifying the records of pending criminal cases registered against horse trader Hasan Ali after income tax sleuths detected unaccounted wealth worth Rs 35,000 crores held by him. Talking to mediapersons here today, City Police Commissioner Balwinder Singh said all six cases were booked against him from 1992.
