Sushmita Sen unveils 'Champagne Diamond' jewellery by KIAH

Mumbai, Feb 25 (UNI) Sheetal manufacturing Company launched its exquisite 'Champagne Diamond' jewellery-collection with brand ambassador and former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen.

Speaking on the occasion here recently Sushmita Sen said, ''My love for diamonds is immense and KIAH's strong brand characteristics appeal to my sensibilities. Champagne diamonds are naturally coloured which makes them special.'' According to KIAH spokesperson Guatam Gulati, Brand Director, ''Naturally coloured diamonds are extremely rare since only one out of 10,000 diamonds is a coloured diamond.'' KIAH is an Australian aboriginal term which means 'from a beautiful place' and currently it has 15 showrooms across the country and has plans to expand to 30 by 2008.

Garment exporter arrested for duping bank

Chennai, Mar 9 (UNI) The Central Crime branch police today arrested a city-based exporter for allegedly cheating the nationalised Bank of India for obtaining a loan of Rs 1.72 crore by producing fake documents. Police said 43-year-old garment exporter Jayachandran of Arumbakkam approached the North Beach Road branch of the Bank and obtained the loan for business development. HMK seeks deletion of portions of song in film 'Periyar'

Chennai, Mar 9 (UNI) The Hindu Makkal Katchi (HMK) has moved Madras High Court, seeking a direction to producers of the Tamil film 'Periyar' about the late rationalist leader E V Ramasamy, to delete certain parts of a song in the that film which it alleged would hurt the sentiments of the Hindu community. A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice A P Shah and Mr Justice K Chandru, adjourned to March 21, the hearing of the petition filed by the state.....

Thousands of cattle sacrificed during the famous Bada Yatra

Koraput, Feb 25 (UNI) More than a thousand cattle have been sacrificed at 'Bada Yatra', along the 70 km road while visiting the four principal deities at the Malkangiri temple, near here, for the past five days. The festival, which commenced from the original abode to the temple town of Malkangiri, witnessed a horrific scene of blood and gore as sacrifices were made to appease the deities.
