Student found dead aboard train

Lucknow, Feb 25 (UNI) A student was found dead aboard the 5035 Uttrakhand-Sampark Kranti Express in Jyotibaphulenagar district of Uttar Pradesh.

Police today said the student was taken out from the train at the Gajraula railway station last night in an unconscious state and was rushed to hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

The deceased was identified as Adesh Dhama of the Bagpat district.

Meanwhile, police is suspecting it to be the handiwork of the notorious drug and rob gang (Zeherkhurans).

Investigations were on, police said.

Boy killed in fire mishap

Gorakhpur, Feb 27 (UNI) A child was burnt alive and his mother sustained serious burn injuries after a raging inferno broke out in their house here on Sunday, police said. The mishap occurred in Katihar Tola under Jhangha police station area, where a house accidentally caught fire and Vimla and her son Virendra got trapped inside it. By the time nearby people came to their rescue, Virendra had already died. The injured was rushed to hospital, where her condition was stated.....

Couple abscond with jewels in TN

Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu, Feb 25 (UNI) A newly-married couple were allegedly absconding with 30 soverign jewels in Kancheepuram today. Police said Perumal(30) hailing from Karunguzhi village in this district and employed in a rice-mill got married to Rohini(23) hailing from Kancheepuram Chalabogar street. Perumal went to his father-in-law's house at Kancheepuram with his wife and stayed there for a while before proceeding to Kancheepuram bus terminus, stating that they were proceeding to Melavalampettai in the district. 26 held for clash in temple festival

Puducherry, Feb 25 (UNI) Thavalakuppam police today registered cases against 26 persons allegedly involved in a clash at a temple festival here last night. According to police, the groups led by Vadivel and Kamaraj, clashed during the festival at the Angalamman Temple at Poornamkuppam near here. CID continued searches at Margadarsi Financiers HQ

Hyderabad, Feb 25 (UNI) The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has resumed its searches at the Margadarsi Financiers headquarters (HQ) here following the interim orders from the First Additional Metropolitan sessions Judge of a local court. The Judge directed the CID to open the office and carry out searches with the minimum required personnel in the presence of six authorised representatives of Margadarsi Financiers.
