Six year old dies in acid attack in Punjab

Sangrur, Feb 25 (UNI) A six-year old boy belonging to a Dalit family died, while his parents and four-year old sister sustained burn injuries when unidentified assailants threw acid on them in Kankanawal Bhangwa village under the Sunam police station last night, police today said.

According to the police, the family was attacked when they were asleep in their house in the village.

The deceased, identified as Vicky, died after admission to a hospital in Sunam.

Those injured were identified as Bira and Sukhpal Kaur, Vicky's parents, and Gurpreet, his sister.

Police which is investigating the crime, suspect personel enmity could be the reason behind the attack. A case under section-302 has been registered against the crimeinals.

HC adjourns hearing into Sethi's bail plea till Feb 28

Mumbai, Feb 26 (UNI) The Bombay High Court today adjourned hearing into the bail application moved by dance bar owner Manjeet Singh Sethi and his son Vicky in a 1997 case pertaining to kidnapping, assault and robbery, till February 28.
