Sanwaria Agro to buy 2 solvent extraction units in MP

New Delhi, Feb 25 (UNI) Sanwaria Agro Oils Ltd (SAOL), country's leading soyabean processors and refined oil maker, plans to acquire two solvent extraction plants in Madhya Pradesh.

It is also in the process of entering into an agreement with an overseas company for marketing its branded and non-branded products in that country.

''The market for refined soyabean oil in India is estimated to be worth Rs 7,500 crore. These acquisitions at a cost of Rs 15 crore and further proposed investment will enhance our present capacity of 1,000 metric tonnes by another 1,000 metric tonnes that will go a long way in helping us meet market demand,'' company's Director Anil Agrawal said.

The revenues generated by these acquisitions will boost the company's bottom line significantly in future and will increase our market share from eight per cent to 15 per cent of edible oil production of MP, he added.

SAOL is part of the Sanwaria Group, a Rs 500-crore group with four members including Sanwaria Energy Ltd, Sanwaria Infrastructure Ltd, Sanwaria Agro Oils Ltd and Sanwaria Foods Ltd.

Five opium smugglers nabbed

Chatra, Mar 11 (UNI) Police arrested five smugglers and recovered about 500 grams of opium from Simaria here today. Police sources said the five were identified as Naresh Saw and Jagdish Saw from Sabono village and Shyamlal Saw, Naresh Saw and Dinesh from Unta village. They were plucking poppy seeds from an opium field in Ranipokhartola in Sabano village here, sources added. The field owner, along with two other smugglers, managegd to escape. Police had registered a case under Narcotics Act.....

Australian trade minister Warren Truss to visit India tomorrow

New Delhi, Feb 25 (UNI) Australian trade minister Warren Truss will lead a 50-member delegation to India for the 16th Joint Business Council (JBC) from February 26 to March 2, to strengthen bilateral relationships between the two countries. According to Mr Truss, India is Australia's 11th largest merchandise trading partner, growing faster than any other top 30 export markets. 29,000 people missing in Delhi since '04

New Delhi, Mar 11 (UNI) As many as 29,000 people, including 13,000 minors, have gone missing from Delhi during the past three years. According to officials, of these more than 5,600 people disappeared in 2006 alone and the figure includes 1,300 minors. Of the 28,966 people who disappeared between 2004-06, 11,654 were females and 12,852 were minors, according to the sources. In all 5,610 people went missing last year of which 1,322 were minors.
