Rain or snow likely to occur in Northern states

Pune, Feb 25 (UNI) Rain or snow are likely to occur at a few places in Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in east Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, at isolated places in Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab,Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada.

The rain or thundershowers are also likely to occur in coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.

Dry weather will prevail over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Telangana,Rayalaseema and interior Karnataka.

Night temperatures were appreciably to markedly below normal in Andhra Pradesh and interior Karnataka. They were below normal in Orissa, Punjab, south Madhya Maharashtra and in parts of south Chhattisgarh.

The temperatures were appreciably to markedly above normal in Gangetic West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Jammu and Kashmir, Gujarat, north Konkan, and in some parts of Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha.

They were above normal in some parts of Assam, Sikkim, Bihar, south Rajasthan, north Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and south Tamil Nadu, while they were normal over the rest of the country.

Very light rain had occurred at isolated places in Tamil Nadu.

Rain or thundershowers had occurred at many places in east Uttar Pradesh, east Rajasthan, at a few places in west Uttar Pradesh, west Rajasthan, east Madhya Pradesh and at isolated places in west Madhya Pradesh.

Dry weather prevailed over Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala.

BMC to start Phase-II cleaning work of Mithi River next month

Mumbai, Feb 25 (UNI) The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will start the Phase-II work of widening, deepening and desilting of the Mithi River next month. The corporation will also undertake construction of retaining walls and roads alongside the riverbanks at the cost of Rs 218 crore.
