Naga-Asom border meeting on Anaki incident

Kohima, Feb 25 (UNI) A Deputy Commissioner level meeting held at Mokokchung has discussed the Nagaland-Assam border issue where Assam Police had set ablaze some houses and arrested six persons on February 18.

According to official sources here today the meeting had resolved some operational procedure for Mokokchung (Nagaland) and Sivsagar (Assam) border affairs.

The procedures stated that whenever there would be any allegation from either side in matter of encroachment, the concerned administration would inform their counterpart within 24 hours about the development for joint verification.

Nagaland police is authorised to arrest its citizens and Asom police could only arrest people of that state, the prodecure revealed.

Border level meetings would be held regularly and efforts would be made to form a border peace committee involving villagers from both side.

Both the sides resolved to insure peace and tranquility in border areas and insure amicable resolution of issues till the border issue was resolved finally by the Local Commission on Border appointed by the Supreme Court.

Fake notes worth Rs 1.1 lakh seized, 3 held

Azamgarh, Mar 10 (UNI) Fake notes worth Rs 1.1 lakh were seized with the arrest of three miscreants in this district of Uttar Pradesh today. Acting on a tip-off, police reached the Rajedpur village and nabbed Dinesh Kumar Bhramchari, Rayees Ahmed and Salman. On being searched, fake notes worth 1.1 lakh and real notes of Rs 18,000 were recovered from their possession, police said. A case was registered. UNI.....

Chandigarh, Mar 10 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said that globalisation had thrown many challenges to the legal professionals in India. Speaking at a Regional Conference on the ''Changing Scenario of Legal Profession in the context of Globalisation'' organised by the Indian Association of Lawyers, he said. There were several untouched streams such as cyber crimes, internet banking frauds and sophisticated white collar and terror crimes.
