Intelligence Bioscience can make the world disease free: Kalam

Belgaum, Feb 25 (UNI) Intelligent Bioscience, a convergence of Nano, Bio and Information and Communication Technology (ICT), had the power to make the world free of all diseases and will help the human race to achieve high capabilities, President A P J Abdul Kalam said here today.

Delivering the Sixth annual convocation address at the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) here, he said Intelligent Bioscience would lead to a disease free, happy and more intelligent human habitat with longevity and high human capabilities, he said.

''Convergence of bio-nano-info technologies can lead to the development of nano robots, which when injected into a patient will diagnose and deliver the treatment exclusively in the affected area and then get digested as it is a DNA based product,'' he said.

Convergence of ICT, aerospace and Nano technologies would revolutionise the aerospace industry and electronics leading to nano computing systems. This technological convergence would enable building of cost effective low weight, high payload and highly reliable aerospace systems, which can be used for inter-planetary transportation, he said.

Speaking about the energy for future generations, Dr Kalam said the era of wood and bio-mass was nearing its end. The age of oil and natural gas would be over within next ten decades as predicted by World Energy Forum. India was working towards achieving Energy security by 2020 leading to realising energy independence by 2030.

In this context, he said the country should fasten its research on niche area of renewable energy, particularly Solar energy.

Hydrogen fuel and solar rays were the two modes to get clean power, he added.
