Innovative ideas hold key to Arunachal's development: Apang

Itanagar, Feb 25 (UNI) Innovative entrepreneurship ideas can tap vast natural resources and accelerate development process in Arunachal Pradesh, said Chief Minister Gegong Apang.

The official sources said here today that while referring to the indigenous brick kilns on his way to Kanubari in Tirap district Mr Apang had asked the unemployed youth to take up such innovative ideas and skill for their economic development.

Mr Apang also announced the sanction of new posts, upgradatation of primary health centre to community health centre and steps to address water supply problem.

He also appreciated the women's association in eradicating drug menace in the area and highlighted the disastrous effect of drugs to the society.

The Wanchos, a tribe, who perform a much better bamboo dance than the Mizos, exhorted to preserve, promote and rejuvenate their rich cultural heritage, Mr Apang added.

Commenting on the memorandum submitted on the occasion, he assured that he would personally take up with concerned ministers and secretaries to address each and every point.

Earlier laying the foundation stone of a 30 mtr span steel bridge over river Tissi at Sonu Lamkai, 10 km from Kanubari, Mr Apang said it would reduce the time by almost half to reach Longding and serve as an alternate road in future.

He also suggested its constructed 50 mtr up-stream to avoid avoidable expenditure on formation cutting and assured to soon release the sanctioned Rs 66 lakh.

Case filed against derogatory remarks on PCC chief

Puducherry, Mar 10 (UNI) Based on a complaint lodged by Students Congress president Samraj that derogatory remarks against PCC president P Shanmugham were published and distributed here, police registered a case today.
