Gunners withdrawn from 11 persons

Mahoba, Feb 25 (UNI) The administration has withdrawn gunners from 11 persons, including three Samajwadi Party (SP) leaders in this district of Uttar Pradesh.

Superintendent of Police Gyan Singh today said the SP leaders included party district unit general secretary Ajay Raj Yadav, party Yuvjan Sabha district unit president Ramesh Yadav, his father Mukundi and party leader Farhat Sultana.

The gunners were also withdrawn from UP Industrial Development Corporation President Siddha Gopal Sahu's father Changa Prasad and brothers Sandeep, Sanjay and Dinesh.

Gunners were also withdrawn from businessman Premnath Sharma, former Zila Panchayat member Pran Singh Yadav and Hamirpur District Cooperative Bank Chairman Shobhalal Yadav.

25 persons were also booked under the Gunda Act as the administration is in no mood to take any chance in the coming UP Assembly polls.

33 passengers injured in road accident

Panna, MP, Feb 25 (UNI) Thirtythree passengers were today injured, 12 of them seriously, when a passenger bus overturned near Simaria, about 60 km from district headquarters, police said. The bus overturned while attempting to avoid collision with a tractor. Two of the seriously injured were admitted to the district hospital, while 10 others were receiving treatment at hospital in Simaria. This bus driver is absconding. UNI.....

Robbers decamp with valuables

Kancheepuram, Mar 12 (UNI) Miscreants gained entry into a locked house here and decamped with 22 sovereigns of gold jewellery and Rs 2.60 lakh in cash. Police sources said here today, the inmates of the house belonging to one Elangovan were away in Chennai when the incident happened. The burglary was noticed when some workers who had come to the hosue for pipelaying work found the locks broken. Cafe Coffee Day to open new outlets in Pakistan

Bangalore, Feb 25 (UNI) Country's largest retail Coffee chain, Cafe Coffee Day, would open 19 more outlets across Pakistan this year, apart from spreading its wings in Austria and East Europe, company Director Naresh Malhotra said today. Speaking to newspersons here, on the sidelines of the India International Coffee Festival-2007 here, he said the Cafe already operated two outlets in Vienna and in Pakistan it was going the franchise way to keep in terms with the regulatory framework.
