Detectives in Ranchi assigned to keep tab of children

Ranchi, Feb 25 (UNI) With rapid changing life styles, parents here are approaching private detectives to feed them with certain information on day-to-day activities of their children.

More than a dozen private security and detective agencies in the state have been assigned with the task of collecting minute-to minute information of the children.

The charges of such agencies vary from Rs 3000 to 7000 per day and Rs 10,000 to 20,000 for a week report.

According to sources, more than 300 clients, including top bureaucrats and businessmen had approached these agencies in the past three months.

Children of 10th to 12th standards are under the scanner, the sources said.

An employee of the city-based private intelligence and security service provider requesting anonymity told UNI they were initially surprised to find clients from ''highly respected and well-to-do'' families in the city to be informed of their ward's activities.

''Earlier we were asked to provide information about a bachelor or a spinster for marriage purpose but the recent trend of clients has also shocked us,'' said another agency officer.

The guardians wanted information mainly like-who their children meet, where they pass break time and what kind of relation they share with their friends.
