Allot 50 per cent of natural gas to AP: Farmers Association

Vijayawada, Feb 25 (UNI) Federation of Farmers Associations Krishna District President Y Hanumantha Rao today said the 50 per cent of available natural gas in Krishna-Godavari basin should be alloted to the state.

Participating in a seminar "Utilisation of Natural Gas for the Development of Andhra Pradesh" organised by Federation of Farmers Association here, he said 50 per cent of gas was enough to generate power in the state.

National Farmers Associations Federation Member Akkineni Bhavani Prasad said the farmers should be aware of new technological advancements in the agricultural field.

Two more fast track courts installed here

Barrackpore, Mar 13 (UNI) A pair of fast track courts for the additional district and session judges has been installed at the sub-divisional court complex here, bringing the number of fast track courts here up to six. District Judge Bandana Roy formally inaugurated the courts here yesterday and hoped that with two additional fast track courts the sub-divisional court would be able to dispos-of pending cases rapidly. Incidentally, none of the participants at the function could tell how many cases were.....

Maoist surrenders in AP

Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh, Feb 25 (UNI) The banned CPI(Maoist) member A Pandugn alias Ajay (19) today surrendered before the District Superintendent of Police Vikramsingh Maane. Talking to newspersons here, Mr Maane said Pandugn hails from Nandraganda village at Krupam mandal in the district. The maoist was disgusted with the policies of his party , he added. He said rehabilitation measures would be provided by the Government to the maoists, who surrendered. UNI.....

Arms dealer nabbed, shell casings and tools siezed

Nadia, Mar 13 (UNI) CID and Shantipur police today raided an arms factory and arrested the arms dealer in Nishchintapur village im Shantipur today. Malay Ray was manufacturing and supplying pipe guns worth between Rs 1,000-1,200 for the past two years, police said. Police siezed some arms-making tools and recovered a few shell casings from his factory, which he converted from an old iron factory here. Investigation in the matter is on. UNI.....
