Three petrol pumps sealed in Kashmir for adulteration

Srinagar, Feb 24 (UNI) Concerned over the reports about the sale of adulterated oil at petrol pumps in the Kashmir valley, the authorities sealed three petrol pumps.

An official spoksman said officials of Crime Branch of the Jammu and Kashmir police and Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) conducted raids at different petrol pumps in the Kashmir valley and collected samples of petrol and diesel.

He said samples of three petrol pumps were found adulterated during the investigation.

All the three petrol pumps set up at Awantipora, Zakoora and Narbal were later sealed and a case has been registered against them.

There were media reports recently alleging that adulterated petrol and diesel was being sold on some of the valley petrol pumps.

2 sentenced to death for killing undertrial in court premises

Muzaffarnagar, Feb 24 (UNI) A local court today awarded capital punishment to two persons accused of murdering an undertrial in court premises. On July 7, 2006, Sharanveer and Pradeep of Kakrauli village had shot dead Dinesh, who was the prime accused in the 2005 murder of Saharanveer's brother Karanveer.
