RLD decides to field candidates on all Assembly seats

Allahabad, Feb 24 (UNI) The Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) today said the party is fully prepared for forthcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections and will field its candidates on all the seats.

Talking to mediapersons, RLD Youth Wing Incharge Jayant Chaudhary said ''the party has decided to field candidates on all the Assembly seats, while the negotiations for having an electoral alliance with some small parties were going on.'' Reiterating RLD's demand for the imposition of Central rule, Mr Chaudhary, the son of party chief Ajit Singh, said ''if the Assembly polls are held under President's rule, it would be better.

But we are confident that the Election commission would make arrangements for free and fair polls.

Noting the term of the present Assembly was expiring today, he said it would be better for Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav to resign from the Chief Ministership. ''Mr Singh's decision to gain confidence vote on February 26 has no relevance,'' he added.
