Reservations for Attari Exp now on PRS upto 15 days in advance

New Delhi, Feb 24 (UNI) In an effort to streamline things after the Sunday night tragedy on the Attari special train, reservation to the 4001 Delhi-Attari Link Express can now be done 15 days in advance in place of reservation available only on the day of the journey.

This train would now run with eight ''fully reserved'' coaches in place of four sleeper class reserved and ten general unreserved compartments, a Northern Railway statement said today.

Reservations to the train could be done up to 15 days in advance till 1800 hrs on the day of the journey. Prior to February 21, reservations to the train's sleeper class were done manually only on the day of the journey.

Hundreds of people stood in lines hours before the train left, not only leading to inconvenienc for the passengers but also left room for inaccuracies and mistakes to creep in while the railway clerk made out the ticket.

Henceforth, reservations for the Delhi-Attari Link Express could also made from seven other Passenger Reservation System locations -- Allahabad, Kanpur, Aligarh, Lucknow, Moradabad, Saharanpur and Amritsar -- besides Delhi Junction (Old Delhi Railway Station).

The reservations could be done between 0800 and 2000 hrs on all days except Sundays, when the bookings would open from 0800 to 1400 hrs.
