NCC cadets venture on motorcycle expedition to Wagah

Bangalore, Feb 24 (UNI) NCC cadets of BHS First Grade College here will undertake a motorcycle expedition to Wagah border, covering a distance of 5,084 km, from February 26 to March 23.

The team, consisting of an Officer, an associated NCC officer, nine cadets, two ex-cadets of the college as Liaison Officers and three service personnel, would travel on five motorcycles an average of 300 km daily across ten states.

The cadets would spread awareness about AIDS, road safety, talent outsourcing and importance of solar energy. Social awareness aspects would also be covered through street plays, lecture/discussions, distribution of leaflets and personal interactions.

The expedition would be flagged off on February 26 by Air Deccan Managing Director Capt G R Gopinath and Air Commodore S Srivastava, Deputy Director General, Karnataka and Goa NCC Directorate.

Assistant Public Prosecutor of Delhi Police arrested for bribery

New Delhi, Mar 7 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested an Assistant Public Prosecutor of the Delhi Police, posted at Patiala House Court, for accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000. Wanted criminal held in UP's capital

Lucknow, Mar 7 (UNI) A wanted Bihar based criminal was arrested in Uttar Pradesh capital late last night, police today said. Acting on a tip-off, cops reached the Mohanlalganj police station area and nabbed history-sheeter Virendra Kumar, a native of Saharsa district of Bihar. On being frisked, a pistol and some cartridges were recovered from his possession. Virendra's name spelled terror in Saharsa and was wanted in several murder cases, police added. UNI.....
