Munsif magistrate killed as car overturns

Churu, Feb 24 (UNI) A munsif magistrate, whose wedding was to take place next month, was killed today when the car she was travelling in overturned in Churu district.

According to police, munsif magistrate Dimple Agarwal and her relative Anek Goyal were on their way to Bikaner when their car overturned on Sohela road near Tidiasar village.

Dimple's body was handed over to her relatives. Lawyers and advocates of Churu and Rajgarh condoled her death.

After clearing the Rajasthan Judicial services exam, Dimple was posted as a munsif magistrate in Rajgarh since last year. Her wedding was to take place on March 6 this year.

Wanted criminal held in UP's capital

Lucknow, Mar 7 (UNI) A wanted Bihar based criminal was arrested in Uttar Pradesh capital late last night, police today said. Acting on a tip-off, cops reached the Mohanlalganj police station area and nabbed history-sheeter Virendra Kumar, a native of Saharsa district of Bihar. On being frisked, a pistol and some cartridges were recovered from his possession. Virendra's name spelled terror in Saharsa and was wanted in several murder cases, police added. UNI.....

Workshop on higher studies abroad on Mar 3

Kozhikode, Feb 24 (UNI) The Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode (IIM-K), will organise a workshop on ''Opportunities for higher Studies Abroad'' here on March 3. The objective of the programme was to disseminate critical information on post graduate and research studies to SC/ST professional/post graduates from Kerala aspiring to pursue higher studies in universities and institutions abroad, a release from IIM-K said. Representatives from United States Educational Foundation of India and British Council will make presentations on prospects of higher studies.....

Panic prevails as BSP MLA's bodyguard opens fire

Hardoi, Mar 7 (UNI) Panic prevailed after a bodyguard of a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MLA opened fire over a dispute here today. The incident occurred in Radhopur village under Mallawa police station area, where Gram Pradhan Vinod Singh thrashed a shopkeeper, while he was pasting posters of BSP leader Satish Sharma. Getting the information, Mr Sharma along with his supporters reached Vinod's residence. Panic prevailed after Mr Sharma's bodyguard opened fire, in which one person was wounded. The injured was.....
