Manipur polls counting on Feb 27

Imphal, Feb 24 (UNI) Chief Electoral Officer R R Rashmi said the counting for the recent polls will be held on February 27 in 12 counting centres throughout the state.

The counting would start at 0800 hours and conclude by evening, he said, adding that there would be three tier security arrangement and no live telecast of the process.

All the district electoral and returning officers have been asked to make tight security arrangements.

The first cordon of security would be around the counting hall to protect the EVMs.

Two senior Magistrates would be posted at the entrance of the second and third cordon.

Imphal, Feb 24 (UNI) The Election Commission of India has ordered repolling in 15 polling stations tomorrow between 0700 hours - 1530 hours for the third phase of elections held yesterday in 12 Assembly segments. Elections were held in Tamenglong, Chandel, Churachandpur districts and Jiribam sub-division. Imphal, Feb 24 (UNI) Altogether 52 Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) have failed during the three phases of recent Manipur polls, Chief Electoral Officer R R Rashmi today said.
