GPCC nominated Chairmen of various committees

Ahmedabad, Feb 24 (UNI) Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) today announced several appointments on various commitees.

GPCC sources said Narhari Amin, former Deputy Chief Minister has been nominated as Chairman of Campaigning Committee, Siddharth Patel nominated as Chairman of Publicity Committee and Arvind Sanghvi as Chairman of the Manifesto Committee while Rajkumar Gupta will be the Treasurer.

AICC General Secretary B K Hariprasad and GPCC Presient announced the new appointments after getting the approval from Party President Sonia Gandhi, the sources said.

The persons nominated as members of Manifesto committee are Manoharsinh Jadeja, Madhusudan Mistry, Nareshbhai Rawal, Irshad Beg, Dineshbhai Parmar and Ashwinbhai Shah, it added.

Woman killed as truck turns turtle

Kolhapur, Feb 24 (UNI) A woman was crushed to death under a truck which turned turtle on the Kolhapur-Ratnagiri highway near Ambavade village this afternoon. The woman was ushering a buffalo which too came under the truck and was killed. The deceased woman has been identified as Manjubai Laxman Shipugade (55). Anand, Feb 26 (UNI) Sleuths of Anand police arrested six persons in connection with the seizure of 45 boxes of India Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth Rs 2.16 lakh at Anklav-Umreta railway crossing. 540 bottles of IMFL along with a Mahindra jeep and two mobiles totalling Rs 4.43 lakh were seized last night, police said. Hanif alias Raju, Alambhai Musada, Dahesaram Prajapati, Dilip Marwari(Ahmedabad), Rakesh Shankar Prajapati (Ahmedabad) and Bansi Bishnoi(Rajasthan) were among the arrested. UNI.....
