Chennai, Feb 23 (UNI) Union Minister of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways, T R Baalu today said any Parliamentary debate on the Cauvery Water Tribunal Award at this juncture would vitiate the cordial relationship between the people of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
A release from his office said the Minister however, urged the Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee to permit Democratic Progressive Alliance (DPA) MPs from Tamil Nadu to participate in the eventuality of any such debate in the Parliament.
Mr Baalu said even though the Tribunal had delivered its verdict on the long pending issue, both the Tamil Nadu and Karnataka Governments are approaching the judiciary for allaying apprehensions and seeking clarifications in respect of the award.
