900-yr-old entique idols recovered, 2 arrested

New Delhi, Feb 24 (UNI) Police today recovered a 900-year-old idol of a Jain Tirthankar, worth crores in the international market, from ISBT area of North Delhi and arrested two persons.

Pappu Yadav alias Rajender (34) and Banu alias Ajay (28), both smugglers of antique goods, were arrested on February 21 following a tip-off, according to the police.

They were heading towards Chandni Chowk to sell the 900-year-old metallic idol of a Jain Tirthankar.

During interrogation they revealed that they had earlier unsuccessfully tried to sell the idol in Sangrur in Punjab.

Srinagar, Feb 24 (UNI) Concerned over the reports about the sale of adulterated oil at petrol pumps in the Kashmir valley, the authorities sealed three petrol pumps.
