Voltas hikes ceiling of FII investment limit to 30 pc

New Delhi, Feb 23 (UNI) Voltas Ltd today said its Board has approved the increase in the ceiling of FII investments in the company under the portfolio investment scheme from 24 per cent to 30 per cent of its paid up capital.

In addition, Reserve Bank of India has advised the company that the aggregate shareholding of FIIs had reached 28.08 per cent of its paid-up capital as against a limit of 30 per cent, a statemenet said.

Life imprisonment to three persons in Jharkhand

Bokaro, Mar 1 (UNI) A fast track court today awarded life imprisonment to three persons accused of murder in Jharkhand's Bokaro district. Additional and Session Judge (1st) S K Choudhuri also imposed Rs 500 as fine on each of the accused--Bablu Bakira, Munna Bari and Bhola Sarma--who murdered Devendra Ram Mahto of Basti Mor under Harla police station in February, 2004. Six girls of West Bengal recovered in Gopalganj

Goplaganj, Mar 1 (UNI) Police today rescued six girls of West Bengal, including one abducted from Jalpaiguri, at Rewati village under Baikunthpur police station area in the district. Deputy Superintendent of Police Uma Shankar Prasad said the girls were rescued during a raid conducted following a tip-off. ''The girls were allegedly involved in flesh trade,'' Mr Prasad said, adding one girl was kidnapped from Alipurdwar police station area in West Bengal on January 23. UNI.....
