Unidentified bodies to be buried tomorrow

Panipat, Feb 23 (UNI) The administration has decided to go in for a mass burial of the unidentified bodies of the Samjhauta blast victims tomorrow even as bodies of six victims, five of them Pakistanis, were taken by their relatives for burial in a nearby village today.

The mass burial would take place after 1400 hrs tomorrow.

''Till that time we will wait for the relatives of the victims to recognise their kin from among the 30 unidentified bodies,'' CMO Sneh Lata Singh said today.

She said the exact place for the mass burial of the bodies would be decided soon.

Meanwhile, six bodies of the identified victims were taken by their relatives for burial in Mehrana village, five km from here, officials said.

Five of them were Pakistani nationals, identified as Anam, Mamoona, Yusuf Naseem, Mariam Bano and Furkan--all residents of Karachi. The sixth body taken for the burial today was of Anwar of Nadiad in Gujarat.

As many as 38 bodies of the 68 blast victims have so far been identified while 30 other badly charred bodies were still lying at the Civil Hospital here.

MP Assembly to observe 13 day recess

Bhopal, Feb 23 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly will have 13-day recess during the Holi festival. After the presentation of 2007-08 budget on February 26, the next sitting will be held only on March 12, Assembly sources said. Besides the Holi festival, preoccupation of the members in the byelection to Gwalior and Sidhi Lok Sabha constituencies and Udaypura Assembly constituency, scheduled on March 8, led to prolonged recess. HP revising relief manual to provide relief to farmers: CM

Shimla, Feb 23 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Revenue Minister Sat Mahajan today said respective deputy commissioners and departments concerned have been directed to submit a report of losses to the crops of the farmers due to prolonged dry spell in the state during the year.
