Swiss watch maker to expand business in India

Chennai, Feb 23 (UNI) Luxury Swiss watchmaker International Watch Company (IWC) is expanding its retail presence in India by opening three outlets in Chennai, New Delhi and Mumbai to cater to watch connoisserus in the country.

"Current retail trends in India were quite dynamic as there is a new sense of awareness and receptivity for luxury products across the country", IWC brand manager Gianfranco D Attis said in an release here today.

The luxury and premimum market in India is valued at more than Rs 1500 to Rs 2000 crore annual growing at fast clip of around 20 per cent per annum, he said adding this growth projection speaks volumes about country's apparent upward mobility.

Besides, by the end of the decade, India is expected have ten million families with income levels above USD 250,000 per year, he said.

Mr Attis also mentioned that India has experienced a consistent annual economic growth rate exceeding seven per cent for the past several years.

"This has created an enormous market for luxury goods including the highly acclaimed IWC brand among the growing number of rich Indians", he said.

"The luxury watch segment in particular has just started to mature, and will see a lot of activity in the next couple of years as we position ourselves to tap the huge potential", he added.

Bajaj Auto launches new Pulsar DTS-i

Chennai, Feb 23 (UNI) Bajaj Auto further extended its product portfolio with the launch of the new 200 cc 'Pulsar' DTS-i in the city today. The new Pulsar comes with an oil cooler which helps control engine oil temperatures at sustained high speeds ensuring more stable engine oil viscosity, Bajaj Auto Limited Vice President K Srinivas told a press conference here. Google would not release sensitive informations: Cerf

Hyderabad, Feb 23 (UNI) Vinton G Cerf, Vice President and Chief Internet Evangelist of Google, also known as father of the Internet, today said Google was only releasing information that it had gathered from public sources and was not releasing any sensitive information. Talking to newspersons here, he said China had given certain guidelines on what to be released and what not and Google was strictly following those guidelines. Internet was for exchange of information and Google never altered facts.....

JCB India sells 50,000 construction machines

Hyderabad, Feb 23 (UNI) JCB India, manufacturer of Construction Equipments has accomplished the feat of selling 50,000 construction machines, said the company's Managing Director Vipin Sondhi here today. Talking to newspersons here, he said the company enjoyed a market share of 55 percent in India. Mr Sondhi said JCB UK started its operations in India in 1979 as a joint venture and in 2003 became 100 per cent. JCB India offered a range of Backhoe Loaders, Loading Shovels, Tracked Excavators, Telehandlers.....
