Superhouse plans to open Allen Cooper retail outlets in India

Mumbai, Feb 22 (UNI) Superhouse Ltd, the makers of Allen Cooper leather footwear and accessories, today announced its plans to foray into retail sector.

Talking to reporters here, Superhouse CMD Mukhtarul Amin said ''Earlier, we were focusing only on an export market but with the changing trends and lifestyle of Indian consumer, we propose to open retail outlets in major cities. Within a short span of time, we will be able to grab the major share of retail market. Besides increasing the share of franchise stores, Superhouse will target big retailers like Reliance Retail, Walmart and Big Bazaar.'' ''The annual requirement of big retailers alone is approximately Rs 6,000 crore. Our quality, use of information technology and designing support software and ability of deliver timely has helped us make our mark in the international market. Growing fashion consciousness globally, imposition of anti-dumping duty on China by European Commission and closure of leather and leather goods manufacturing facilities in Europe, has given us an opportunity to grow substantially.

The company also announced an expansion plan of Rs 45 crore to double its capacities of tanning process and finished leather products.

Superhouse exports its products to more than 50 countries globally, including France, Germany, United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain, China and Gulf, Mr Amin added.

Rupee opens low at 44.24/25 Vs USD

Mumbai, Feb 22 (UNI) Rupee opened low at 44.24/25 against US dollar compared to 44.18/19 on the previous day's close, due to weaker Asian currencies and refiners buying of dollars for oil payments. Kalyani Lemmerz completes expansion of vehicle steel wheel facility

Pune, Feb 22 (UNI) Kalyani Lemmerz Limited, a subsidiary of Hayes Lemmerz International Inc (HAYZ), today announced that it has completed the expansion of its state-of-the-art commercial vehicle steel wheel facility, bringing annual capacity to 800,000.
