Six killed, 12 imjured in accident

Bathinda, Feb 23 (UNI) Six persons were killed and 12 others injured in a collison between a truck and a canter on Barnala GT oad near Rampura Phul in this district last night.

All the victim were workers of Surbhi Caterer Patiala who were on way to Patiala when their tanker overturned after being hit from a truck coming from the opposite side, police said.

Rampura Phul police, helped by the local residents, rescued the injured and rushed them to Rampura Phul hospital from where three seriously hurt people have been referred to the Rajindra Hospital, Patiala.

Rampua Phul police has registered a case against the driver of truck and started investigation of the case. So far, no arrest has been made.

New train to Kanpur

Bhopal, Feb 23 (UNI) The Valsad-Kanpur Udyogkarmi Express will begin its maiden journey on February 28 and ply once a week -- leaving Valsad on Thursdays and Kanpur on Fridays. The 2943 Down Udyogkarmi Express will leave Valsad at 1940 hrs and reach here at 1045 hrs the following day. The 2944 Up Udyogkarmi Express will leave Kanpur at 0800 hrs on March 2, arrive here at 1600 hrs and reach Valsad at 0745 hrs, a Bhopal Railway Division release said.....

Life terms for 2 in murder case

Pratapgarh, Mar 3 (UNI) A local court has pronounced life imprisonment on two persons accused in a murder case here. On May 4, 2006, Maqbool Khan was brutally murdered by Iliyas and Yunus over a dispute in Salem Bhadari village under Kotwali police station area.
