Rajasthan's second largest recruitment drive of teachers

Jaipur, Feb 23 (UNI) Rajasthan is going for the second largest recruitment drive in the educational sector with the appointment of 38, 010 teachers in the state this year.

Rajasthan Education Minister Ghanshyam Tiwari, while addressing a press conference here today, said 2.69 lakh applicants would appear for the examination for the appointment of 38,010 teachers including 450 lecturers conducted by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission on February 25. The appointment process would be completed before March, he added.

In order to address the issue of fake degree certifcates, a committee of officials comprising RPSC and the Education department have been constituted to scrutinise the certificates of the selected candidates, the minister said.

Education Minister also announced that the transfer of teachers would be completed before May 15 adding that the transfer of the teachers in the government schools would be based on the annual results.

The teachers of those schools whose results fall short of the state average will invite punitive action while teachers of schools which excel will be rewarded with choice transfers, he added.

Two LeT militants, two army jawans killed in Rajouri

Jammu, Feb 23 (UNI) Two Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) militants and two Army jawans were killed in an encounter at the general area of Thanamandi in Rajouri this morning. Senior Superintendent of Police, Rajouri, Farooq Khan told UNI that army personnel of 43 Rashtriya Rifles along with state police, acting on a tip-off, cordoned off Raina Mohalla of Thanamandi for search operations. During the search operation, militants opened fire on them, resulting in the death of a jawan. The army personnel retaliated.....

Special Purpose Coffee Fund on the anvil to help growers

Bangalore, Feb 23 (UNI) A Special Purpose Coffee Fund, on the lines of the one introduced for tea plantations, is on the anvil to ensure replantation and rejuvenation of coffee in 80,000 hectares in the country, Union Minister of State for Commerce Jairam Ramesh announced today. Presiding over the inauguration of the three-day International Coffee Festival organised by the Coffee Board here, he said the Coffee Board had forwarded a report prepared by the SBI Capital wing in this regard......
