Rain or snow likely to occur at Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh

Pune, Feb 23 (UNI) Rain or snow are likely to occur at isolated places in Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Punjab and Nicobar.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Andman and Lakshadweep Islands.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at isolated places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Mainly dry weather prevailed in Lakshadweep.

Night temperatures were markedly below normal in south interior Karnataka and were appreciably below normal in north Telangana, Rayalseema and in some parts of Marathwada, south Chattiasgarh and of Tamil Nadu and were below normal in coastal Andhra Pradesh, south Kerala and some parts of north interior Karnataka and in remaining parts of Tamil Nadu.

They were appreciably to markedly above normal in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, in some parts of Bihar, parts of Marathwada and were above normal in Konkan and Goa, north Madhya Maharashtra and in some parts of West Bengal, Sikkim, east Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and of Himachal Pradesh. They were normal over the rest of the country.

Developmental projects would not hampered: Vajubhai

Gandhinagar, Feb 23 (UNI) Gujarat Finance Minister Vajubhai Vala today claimed that despite no 'fresh tax' in the budget for 2007-08, the developmental projects in the state would not hampered. In post-budget press briefing here, Mr Vala said the Gujarat government has decided to widen the gap between revenue receipts and expenditures by ''cutting the administrative cost and stringent measures for faster and proper tax collections.'' State budget most disappointing, lacks luster: GCCI

Ahmedabad, Feb 23 (UNI) Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) today termed the budget for 2007-08 presented by State Finance Minister Vajubhai Vala as most ''disappointing and lacking in luster'' as far as the trade and industry of the state are concerned.
