Publication of voters list postponed

Puducherry, Feb 23 (UNI) The Election Department today postponed the publication of the final voters list in the Union Territory, scheduled for February 26.

The Joint Chief Electoral Officer(CEO) P T Rudra Goud in a release here said this is in view of the Election Commission of India's direction to conduct a random spot verification of admitted claims in some of the Assembly Constituencies here, where the number of such claims was high.

Manipur polls counting on Feb 27

Imphal, Feb 24 (UNI) Chief Electoral Officer R R Rashmi said the counting for the recent polls will be held on February 27 in 12 counting centres throughout the state.
