Mizo student body demands youth commission

Aizawl, Feb 23 (UNI) The Mizo Zirlai Pawl (MZP), a student organisation, today demanded to set up youth commission in the state for betterment of the educated youths.

In a meeting with Chief Minsiter Zoramthanga here today MZP said, ''Youth commission is badly needed in order to have educated Mizo youths getting jobs in other parts of the country and abroad''.

They also underlined the need for an English Language Institution run by the state government, as a large number of English teachers are required in non-english speaking school of the state.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister assured them the government would take step to consider the demand of setting up youth commission in the state and it would be tabled in cabinet meeting soon, the MZP officials said.

Doctors plead for security within RIMS campus

Itanagar, Feb 23 (UNI) Doctors of the Imphal-based Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Arunachal Pradesh Centre, have urged for adequate measures within the campus to quell the prevailing sense of insecurity in the hospital. In a memorandum to Chief Minister Gegong Apang here yesterday, the P G doctors informed that on February 19 last, an armed mob had assaulted five doctors and security personnel, following the death of a patient in the hospital. Mercury level rises in Manipur

Imphal, Feb 23 (UNI) The sky god has today enabled the normal conduct of elections in Manipur. While the first two phases were marked with heavy rainfall, the sky remained comparitively clear today, the local MET office informed UNI. The minimum temperature was about 8.3 degree Celsius while the maximum was about 25.3 degree Celsius. The humidity was about 76 per cent. UNI.....
