Inquiry into irregularities in Katni Municipal Corpoarion

Bhopal, Feb 23 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Government today announced in the assembly registering of FIR against builders of illegal colonies in Katni district and transferring guilty officials besides getting the matter inquired in this regard.

After the matter was raised by Ms Alka Jain (BJP) during the Question Hour, Speaker Ishwardas Rohani directed that guilty officials be removed and the matter be inquired.

Urban Administration Minister Jayant Malaiya admitted that 71 colonies were illegal. He said police had been directed to register FIR against the builders of illegal colonies.

Earlier, Ms Jain alleged that municipal corporation officials had provided wrong information in this regard and as such guilty officials be removed and inquiry be ordered into the matter.

During the Question Hour, Mr Premchand Guddu (Cong) raised the matter of commercial exploitation of land allotted for a newspaper in Indore and demanded action in this regard.

Mr Malaiya said Rs three crore was to be collected as lease rent from the concerned newspaper. The Indore Development Authority was taking action in this matter.

Over 24 injured in UP road mishap

Pratapgarh, Feb 23 (UNI) Over 24 persons were grievously injured after a speeding Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) bus collided head on with a truck and overturned here today. Police said the bus, on way to Bahraich from Allahabad, rammed into a truck and overturned under Mandhata police station area.
