Hawkers attack corporation staff

Surat, Feb 23 (UNI) A group of hawkers today pelted stones at the Surat Municipal Corporation staff when they tried to remove them from the busy Chottapul market area in the city, police sources said.

According to police sources, the SMC staff this morning tried to remove the hawkers from the roadside. this infuriated them and they started pelting stones at the SMC staff, Two staff members Jayantilal and Manu Gulab were injured in the incident, police said.

Police has registered a complaint in connection with the incident, sources added.

Missing cleaner of robbed truck found

Palnpur, Feb 27 (UNI) A cleaner who went missing last Sunday after he was robbed of his truck by unidentified men, was found near Bhabhar in Banaskantha district today. The truck was carrying 15 tonnes of copper worth Rs 21 lakh. According to district police chief Vipul Aggarwal, the cleaner Jitendra Kumar Jay Naryan, native of Kaktal district of Sonipat in Haryana, was thrown out from the vehicle near Bhabhar. In his complaint, the cleaner said the truck was taken.....

Akola, Feb 27 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party MP Sanjay Mhatre has expressed unhappiness over the Rail Budget saying it has neglected the west Vidarbha region. There has been no provision for the conversion of the Khandwa-Akola-Ratlam meter gauge line into broad guage, he said. He alleged that the rail budget appears to be politically motivated.
