Haryana to adjust more retrenched employees

Chandigarh, Feb 23 (UNI) In a major relief to regular retrenched employees of Group A and B, below the age of 55 as on May 18, 2006, the Haryana Government has decided to consider their cases for ''adjustment.'' Chief Secretary Prem Prashant earlier said the state government had formulated a scheme for readjusting regular retrenched Group C and D employees of Boards, Corporations, Co-operative Federations and other PSUs who had been retrenched by the previous Chautala government on account of closure or restructuring of these organisations.

''Now the same scheme had also been extended to Group A and B regular retrenched employees for their adjustment, as per the terms and conditions of the polling,'' he added.

Mr Prashant said further compensation of Rs one lakh will be given to retrenched employees of Groups A, B, C and D who were over 55 years of age and less than 58 years as on May 18, 2006.

Similarly, a compensation of Rs 2.5 lakh would be given to the families of the retrenched employees who had died after retrenchment and who would otherwise have been eligible for adjustment on May 18, 2006.

Rajasthan's second largest recruitment drive of teachers

Jaipur, Feb 23 (UNI) Rajasthan is going for the second largest recruitment drive in the educational sector with the appointment of 38, 010 teachers in the state this year. Rajasthan Education Minister Ghanshyam Tiwari, while addressing a press conference here today, said 2.69 lakh applicants would appear for the examination for the appointment of 38,010 teachers including 450 lecturers conducted by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission on February 25. Soldier, 3 Lashkar militants killed in J

Srinagar, Feb 23 (UNI) Three militants and a soldier were killed and four security personnel wounded while security forces arrested a militant in Jammu and Kashmir overnight, an official spokesman said. He said security forces and the police launched a joint operation at Mohalla Manyal Gali in Rajouri district of Jammu region this morning following a tip off that some militants were hiding there. Oppn walkout over inaction against criminals

Bhopal, Feb 23 (UNI) The opposition Congress today staged a walkout in the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly over abduction of government officials by a BJP office-bearer and his friends during cooperative elections in Bhind district. Dr Govind Singh, who raised the issue through a calling attention notice, alleged BJP district general secretary Ambreesh Sharma and his friends had abducted Agriculture Development Officer Suratram Jatav during cooperative elections in Raun area two days back.
