Govt committed to judicial reforms: Kalam

New Delhi, Feb 23 (UNI) President A P J Abdul Kalam today asserted that the Government is committed to judicial reforms to speed up the justice delivery system and ensure greater efficiency, transparency and integrity.

In his address to the joint session of Parliament, the President said a new bill for setting up the National Judicial Council for greater accountability and transparency in the judiciary has already been tabled in Parliament.

Moreover, Grameen Nyayalay Bill for setting up people-friendly local courts with flexibility of procedures for speedy disposal of petty cases, is on the anvil, he pointed out.
