Godrej unveils new range of split, window airconditioners

Chennai, Feb 23 (UNI) Godrej Appliances, a leading player in the home appliances industry, today unveiled their new range of "Eon" split and window airconditioners with a revolutionary i-sense technology, a first of its kind in the country.

Altogether, the company was rolling out 25 models, built with the advanced technolgoy for this summer, which ensures faster and uniform cooling all around the room, just at the temperature set on the remote.

The 25 models, included 18 models in spilit AC and seven in Window AC, with capacities ranging from 0.8 tonne to 2 tonnes and the price ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 45,000, Mr Kamal Nandi, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, told a press conference here.

"The Godrej i-sense technology spilt airconditioners are different like no other brand in India," he said adding, they come with two temperature sensors, one built into the indoor unit and one into the remote control.

As these sensors continuously exchange data with each other, the airconditioner automatically adjusts the temperature condition around the remote control, he said.

Mr Nandi said the company, which had entered the AC market last year, had garnered four per cent market share and sign of the year 2007-08 with 10 per cent share. The company had sold one lakh units last year and confident of clocking two lakh units this year.

He said the AC market was Rs 3000 crore in India, of which spilit AC constituted about 60 per cent and the industry was growing at 20 per cent every year.

JCB India sells 50,000 construction machines

Hyderabad, Feb 23 (UNI) JCB India, manufacturer of Construction Equipments has accomplished the feat of selling 50,000 construction machines, said the company's Managing Director Vipin Sondhi here today. Talking to newspersons here, he said the company enjoyed a market share of 55 percent in India. Mr Sondhi said JCB UK started its operations in India in 1979 as a joint venture and in 2003 became 100 per cent. Guj Gas announces higher Q3 profit at Rs 1.82 cr

Mumbai, Feb 24 (UNI) Gujarat Gas Company Ltd has posted a profit after tax of Rs 1.82 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2006, as compared to Rs 1.09 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2005. The company's Total Income (net of excise) has increased from Rs 16.38 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2005, to Rs 23.71 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2006. AP Govt allocates Land to Cognizant
