Gang of cheats busted

New Delhi, Feb 23 (UNI) With the arrest of three people from South Delhi, police have busted a gang of cheats, who cheated banks and couriers companies of more than Rs 10 lakh.

Jiya Faisal, Vishal Aggarwal and Ajay Java allegedly used fake identity papers and used credit cards to cheat the companies.

They were arrested yesterday from their hideout in South Delhi's Lado Sarai Area.

Police recovered five mobile phones, one television set, six credit cards and gold worth more than Rs 5 lakh.

Further investigations are in progress.

Lucknow, Feb 23 (UNI) With the Delhi High Court acquitting UP underworld don Babloo Srivastava and his close associat Nitin Gunwant Shah, a Mumbai-based businessman, in Lalit Suneja murder case, the don has shown he is ahead of the investigators. Salman handed over to Haryana Police

Bikaner, Feb 23 (UNI) Salman Ahamed, arrested by the Rajasthan Police here in connection with the Samjhauta Express train blast, was handed over to the Haryana Police today. Allahabad, Feb 23 (UNI) Allahabad High Court today dismissed a writ petition seeking disqualification of the remaining 24 rebel BSP MLAs, after the recent Supreme Court verdict. Earlier, 13 other rebel BSP MLAs were disqualified by the SC. A total of 37 MLAs had formed the Loktantrik Bahujan Dal (LBD) after splitting in two groups in 2003 and later merged with the ruling Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh. Leopard kills 17 sheeps and goats in Kashmir

Srinagar, Feb 23 (UNI) A leopard killed 17 sheeps and goats and injured four others in north Kashmir, an official spokesman said. A leopard entered the cowshed of one Gani Bakerwal at Burnate, Boniyar, in the north Kashmir district of Baramulla late last night, the spokesman said. However, before the leopard could be caught, he killed 15 sheeps and two goats and injured four. Leopard later escaped back into the nearby forest, he said. About a dozen people have been killed.....
