Former-Cong councillor shot dead by nephew

Lucknow, Feb 23 (UNI) Former Congress councillor Satish Sharma was shot dead by his nephew in Ghaziabad's Patel Nagar area this afternoon.

Police said here Sharma was shot point blank by his nephew Tika Ram at the former's residence in Patel Nagar. A property dispute is said to be the reason behind the crime.

Sharma was rushed to Shivam nursing home, where he was declared brought dead.

A named FIR has been lodged against Tika Ram, who is absconding.

Srinagar, Feb 23 (UNI) The Wildlife Protection Force has arrested four people for the illegal hunting of migratory birds at Hokersar on the outskirts of the city. HC orders removal of Haryana Pharmacy Council registrar

Chandigarh, Feb 23 (UNI) The Punjab and Haryana High Court today ordered the removal of S N Nehra from the post of Registrar of Haryana Pharmacy Council and directed the state vigilance bureau to probe charges of financial irregularities against him.
