Cool mornings, sunny afternoons make Rajasthan pleasant

Jaipur, Feb 23 (UNI) Rajasthan is experiencing a pleasant weather with a mix and match of cool mornings, nights and sunny afternoons.

The state capital witnessed a fall of 1 degree Celsius from yesterday, recording 14.5 degrees Celsius today. Yesterday, the temperature had jumped five degrees Celsius, making the day quite warm.

Similarly, Bharatpur and Bikaner witnessed a fall of one to two degrees Celsius while places like Udaipur, Dholpur, Kota and Rawatbhata saw a steady rise in temperature.

State's only hill station Mount Abu mapped 10.4 degrees Celsius today. Ganganagar in the plains also clocked 10.4 degrees making it the coldest in the state today.

The Meteorological department recordeda temperature of 10.8 degrees in Pilani, 13.4 degrees in Dholpur, 13.5 degrees Celsius in Jaisalmer and Churu, 13.7 degrees in Bikaner, 14.6 degrees in Bharatpur, 16.4 degrees in Jhalawar, Udaipur and Barmer, 16.5 degrees Celsius in Ajmer, 17.2 degrees in Sawaimadhopur, 18.2 degrees Celsius in Kota, 18.4 degrees in Bundi and 22 degreec Celsius in Rawatbhata.

The Met office has predicted a dry weather for the state over the next 24 hours.

Luggage tags, restricted platform entry on Thar Express

Jaipur, Feb 23 (UNI) In the wake of devastating bombings on Samjhauta Express, unprecedented security measures were put in place on Thar Express, which connects India and Pakistan on the Rajasthan border. Rajasthan's second largest recruitment drive of teachers

Jaipur, Feb 23 (UNI) Rajasthan is going for the second largest recruitment drive in the educational sector with the appointment of 38, 010 teachers in the state this year. Rajasthan Education Minister Ghanshyam Tiwari, while addressing a press conference here today, said 2.69 lakh applicants would appear for the examination for the appointment of 38,010 teachers including 450 lecturers conducted by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission on February 25. Soldier, 3 Lashkar militants killed in J

Srinagar, Feb 23 (UNI) Three militants and a soldier were killed and four security personnel wounded while security forces arrested a militant in Jammu and Kashmir overnight, an official spokesman said. He said security forces and the police launched a joint operation at Mohalla Manyal Gali in Rajouri district of Jammu region this morning following a tip off that some militants were hiding there.
