Coast Guard rescues six from sinking vessel in Andaman Sea

Port Blair, Feb 23 (UNI) The Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centre of Indian Coast Guard here has rescued six crew members from a sinking ship in Andaman sea, Coast Guard Official said today.

The vessel MSV Ayasha II with six crew on board, sailed from here to Hut Bay on February 21, with a cargo of 110 tonne cement which sank near North Cinque Island of Andaman Chain yesterday.

On receiving the information from Port Communication Centre, the Coast Guard of Andaman and Nicobar region undertook a rescue operation, Commandant Akshay Jain of Coast Guard in Andaman told UNI.

Meanwhile, the owner of the sunk vessel also rushed to the site and brought the remaining three crew members.

Garment exporters expectations from the Budget 2007

New Delhi, Feb 23 (UNI) The garment exporters have high expectations from Budget 2007 and have urged certain concession for the industry for this employment-oriented Textile and Garment Sector as the Government is giving high priority to employment generation. The wish-list of Garment Exporters Association (GEA) from the Budget is that following GEA Pre-Budget recommendations would receive due consideration of the Finance Minister while finalising the Budget proposals.
