Battle for UP: SS to ally with BJP

Indore, Feb 23 (UNI) Shiv Sena (SS) Working President Uddhav Thackeray today said that the party intended to forge an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party and contest the Uttar Pradesh assembly election.

''The SS wishes to tie up with Hindu forces to prevent polarisation of Hindu votes. The details will be sorted out later.

The Congress has adopted two-faced policies and that is why disputes crop up between Hindus and Muslims,'' he alleged.

Pointing out that Rs 5 lakh each were granted as ex gratia to the Mumbai transit terror-affected families, Mr Thackeray added that the figure was Rs 10 lakh each in the Samjhauta Express case.

Gandhinagar, Feb 23 (UNI) The Gujarat Government has planned to set up a gas-based crematoriums' network thoughout the state in order to protect environment and conserve trees as well as modernize traditional arrangements of cremation of dead bodies.
