Chennai, Feb 23 (UNI) Bajaj Auto further extended its product portfolio with the launch of the new 200 cc 'Pulsar' DTS-i in the city today.
The new Pulsar comes with an oil cooler which helps control engine oil temperatures at sustained high speeds ensuring more stable engine oil viscosity, Bajaj Auto Limited Vice President K Srinivas told a press conference here.
"The 200 cc DTS-i engine generates 18 Ps of raw pulsating power to provide riding excitement to performance bike lovers," he added.
It was the first motorcycle in the country to feature both front and rear tubeless tyres, he claimed.
The rear tyre was the broadest in its category to ensure better road grip and stability, he said adding the new digital console was an advanced version of the latest Pulsar family.
"Apart from digital odometer, speedometer, fuel guage and two trip meters, the console on motorcycle has indicators for air filter condition, engine temperature, battery voltage and oil level," he pointed out.
The bike priced at Rs 65,745 ex-showroom in Chennai would be available exclusively at Probiking showrooms only.
According to the company officials, the concept of probiking was based on the fact that while the product was the centre of attration, a pre and post sales experience, which was relevant to the customers, had to be taken care of differently.
Currently there were six Probiking showrooms across the country including the one in Chennai.
The company plans to set up 55 Probiking showrooms in various cities in the country at the cost of Rs 300 crore which was roughly about Rs 1.5 crore per unit.
The officials also informed the company would be launching 220 cc Pulsar with fuel injection technology within a couple of months.
