Armed miscreants rob Rs 20 lakh at gun point

Bhadrak, Orissa, Feb 23 (UNI) In a during daylight robbery, six armed miscreants today robbed Rs 20 lakh cash and bank drafts worth Rs five lakh at gun point in the town.

Six people, including two employees of Central Bank of India, were injured when the miscreants opened fire when fleeing from the scene after the crime.

Police said the Central Bank of India employees were returning to the Bank after collecting Rs 20 lakh cash and drafts from the local LIC branch when they were intercepted by six armed criminals.

The robbers, who came in three motorbikes, snatched the bag containing cash from the Bank employees. When the employees resisted and local passers-by arrived at the scene, the miscreants opened fire, injuring six people on the spot.

Police on being informed about the incident arrived at the spot, sealed all the exit points and launched a combing operation to nab the culprits.

Fruit seller shot dead
