AICC Secretaries for election campaign in Nagaland

Kohima, Feb 23 (UNI) All India Congress Committee (AICC) Secretaries Major Ved Prakash and Ranjit Thomas will arrive in Nagaland tomorrow on a three-day visit.

During their stay, the secretaries will campaign for the Congress candidates for the March 8 by-elections of Dimapur-I and Tuensang Sadar II Assembly constituencies by addressing rallies in the respective constituencies, Congress Party sources said.

Publication of voters list postponed

Puducherry, Feb 23 (UNI) The Election Department today postponed the publication of the final voters list in the Union Territory, scheduled for February 26. The Joint Chief Electoral Officer(CEO) P T Rudra Goud in a release here said this is in view of the Election Commission of India's direction to conduct a random spot verification of admitted claims in some of the Assembly Constituencies here, where the number of such claims was high. Armed Forces spend 12 crore in NE under civic action programme

Manipur polls counting on Feb 27

Imphal, Feb 24 (UNI) Chief Electoral Officer R R Rashmi said the counting for the recent polls will be held on February 27 in 12 counting centres throughout the state. The counting would start at 0800 hours and conclude by evening, he said, adding that there would be three tier security arrangement and no live telecast of the process.
