Agumbe records lowest temp 9.7 deg. celsius

Bangalore, Feb 23 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the Weather Office here at 0830hrs today.

Dry weather prevailed over the State.

Minimum temperatures fell at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and changed little over Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka. They were below normal at many places being appreciably so at a few places over Interior Karnataka and were normal over Coastal Karnataka.

Agumbe recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 9.7 deg.

Celsius over the State.

Forecast valid until Sunday morning: Dry weather may prevail over the State.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Dry weather may prevail over all the districts of the State.

Local forecast: Clear sky. Minimum temperature would be around 15 deg. Celsius.

Meghalaya gets central grant for rural water supply

Shillong, Feb 21 (UNI) The Centre has released Rs 16.47 crore to Meghalaya towards second installment of funds against the original allocation of Rs 38.93 crore to the state under Accelerated Rural Water Supply Programme (ARWSP) during 2006-07. Bhoomi project extended to Hobli level

Hubli, Feb 24 (UNI) Functioning of 'Bhoomi' at taluk headquarters in Karnataka has been extended to 400 Hobli headquarters to enable the farmers to computerise their land records at the Hobli itself, State Revenue Minister Jagadish Shettar said today. Munda to lead "Shramdan" for road construction

Jamshedpur, Feb 21 (UNI) Former Jharkhand chief minister Arjun Munda will launch a BJP-sponsored ''Shramdan''(Voluntary labour) and ''Pardafans'' (Unmasking) programme of the present government at Hatgamharia in West Singhbhum district tomorrow demanding immediate construction of a 45-km stretch of Hatgamharia-Baraiburu road. Significantly, starting the mending and construction of the road was one of the major causes of falling of the BJP led Munda government in September last year.
