University to honour CM

Coimbatore, Feb 22 (UNI) President A P J Abdul Kalam will confer 'Thamizh Chemmal' title on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi on February 24.

District Collector Neeraj Mittal told reporters that the Bharatiyar University will be honouring the Chief Minister as part of its Silver Jubilee celebrations on the day.

After arriving here in the morning, Mr Karunanidhi would launch various developmental schemes and also lay the foundation stone for Tidal Park, to be constructed at a cost of Rs 300 crore, Mr Mittal added.

Chennai, Feb 22 (UNI) Finishing touches to the project of the Indian River Grid (IRG) for impounding and distribution of one-third of surplus flood water escaping to sea, was given here by Permanent Resolution of Water Disputes in India (WEDO). WEDO, an NGO with a team of professionls, has proposed the IRG, an ambitious mega project, to trap and utilise 500 cubic km, which was one third of the surplus flood waters flowing as waste into the seas every year. Semiconductor policy to trigger 15 billion dollar investment

Tata coffee plans to convert its product into branded operations

Bangalore, Feb 23 (UNI) Tata Coffee, a leading Indian coffee company with 16 coffee estates, is contemplating to convert its entire production of soluble coffee and new freeze dried coffee into branded operations in next three years.
