New Delhi, Feb 22 (UNI) Romania-based generic pharma company Terapia-Ranbaxy has received approval from the European Union (EU) for manufacturing and importing drugs outside EU.
''The regulatory agency acknowledged the good systems and processes put in place in our Cluj-Napoca site, and at the same time, the quality of the laboratory and of the technology transfer,'' company Chief Executive Officer Dragos Damian said.
This authorisation is a major event in the company's evolution as it aligns the quality systems in Terapia-Ranbaxy with the EU norms and synchronises these with the systems at parent company Ranbaxy, Mr Damian said.
Last year, Ranbaxy's subsidiary Ranbaxy Netherlands BV picked up 96.7 per cent of the top Romanian generics company Terapia SA.
For this year, the company is planning to launch more than 40 new products.
The company's laboratory is the fourth one of its kind in Romania.
