Indore, Feb 22 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh today pipped Railway Sports Promotion Board (RPCB) by 63 runs in a Central Zone Ranji league one-dayer at the Emerald Ground here.

After winning the toss, the railwaymen opted to field. Ravikant Shukla (54), Suresh Raina (39), Praveen Kumar (34), Ali Murtaza (30) and Parminder Singh (30) helped take the Uttar Pradesh score to 246/9 in the allotted 50 overs. J P Yadav's scalped 4 batsmen for 28 runs. Rahul Thakur and M Kartik claimed two wickets each.

RPCB crumbled for 183 in 47.2 overs. Karan Sharma (40), Sanjay Bangar (34) and Rahul (32) were the main contributors. For Uttar Pradesh, Shalabh Srivastava, Kumar and Singh took two wickets each.

The victors received four points and a bonus point.

Jabalpur, Feb 22 (UNI) A national-level moot court competition being organised by the Rani Durgawati University will begin here on February 24. Rani Durgawati University's Law HOD Dr Divya Chourasia said the competition was being organised for the first time in the university. Thirty law department teams from various universities across the countries will take part in the meeting. Yashodamma Dasappa's birth anniversary to be celebrated

Bangalore, Feb 28 (UNI) Karnataka Women and Child Development Minister H K Kumaraswamy today said the department proposed to celebrate the birth anniversary of Yashodamma Dasappa, the first woman Minister of the State, on International Women's Day on March eight. Talking to reporters here, he said the Government had instituted four awards, with a cash prize of Rs 25,000, in the name of Ms Dasappa for contributing to women's welfare.
