New coffee mfg equipment marketing company launched

Bangalore, Feb 22 (UNI) A new company, Kappi Machines (India) Private Limited, was today opened for marketing coffee manufacturing equipment.

Coimbatore's Eltex Group, Mahlkonig of Germany and Italy's C M A were the three partners in the new outfit, with each of them having 33.3 per cent stake. They would bring together expertise in marketing and servicing of exclusive coffee making equipment, including grinders and espresso machines.

Announcing this to newspersons here, Eltex Group Managing Director Suresh Jagannathan said the new organisation would have its headquarters in Coimbatore and targetted to achieve a turnover of US Dollars five million in the next three years. To start with, the first phase of operations would cover South and then move on to the North. ''Our attempt is to offer the retailer world class equipment under one roof, thereby obviating the necessity for going to multiple importers, suppliers and vendors and executing numerous servicing and maintenance contracts,'' he added.

Mahlkonig General Manager Nils Erichsen said his company would consolidate its presence in the Indian market through this alliance.

Italy's C M A Manager Flavio Urizzi said Italy was renowned for some of the world's best food processing equipment. ''We are happy to bring our expertise and market dominance in the espresso coffee segment to India through this joint venture,'' he remarked.

Golden-Rock to refurbish MG locomotives for use in Myanmar

Tiruchirapalli, Feb 20 (UNI) The Central Railway Workshop at Golden-Rock (GOC) here has bagged orders to refurbish the old Meter Gauge (MG) locomotives for use in Myanmar railways. Talking to reporters here, Southern Railway (SR) General Manager Thomas Varghese said the GOC had modified 93 locomotives and exported them through RITES to other third world countries.
