Nath to release World Trade

New Delhi, Feb 22 (UNI) The World Trade and Development Report 2007, prepared by Research and Information System for developing countries (RIS), will be released by Union Commerce and Industry Minister Kamal Nath at a function here tomorrow.

The report focusses on asymmetries, impact and challenges in the emerging multilateral trading system and development; addressing the clashing interests of rich and poor farmers, Non-Agricultural Market Access (NAMA) and developing countries.

It also focusses on the important issues of trade in services and development; trade facilitation and developing countries; TRIPs, indigenous knowledge and geographical indications; dispute settlement understanding from a developing country perspective; and South-South cooperation in trade.

The report is a valuable resource for policy makers, development economists, civil society organisations and those concerned about making globalisation and trade work for development.

The function is being jointly organised by the Oxford University Press India and RIS.

S H Raza's lifetime works on show at NGMA

New Delhi, Feb 22 (UNI) An exhibition of the lifetime works of veteran artist S H Raza is being held at the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) here to celebrate his 85th birthday. The exhibition, titled 'Swasti' showcases Mr Raza's broad spectrum of work from his landscapes in water colours to his evolved modern art. 'Swasti' features 45 paintings collected from NGMA repository, Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal and private collections. Some of the works have been specially created for this exhibition.....

Steel Park to come up in Kustagi taluk in Koppal District

Cabinet nod for inclusion of OBCs in central list

New Delhi, Feb 22 (UNI) The Union Cabinet today approved a proposal for inclusion, correction or amendment of the names of the castes and communities on the central lists of other backward castes (OBCs). The castes and communities pertain to Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tripura, Puducherry, Daman and Diu and Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi told reporters.
